Media Reform

Reorientating the media is a necessary step to save America from impending suicide

Give the state of affairs today, media reform and reorientation is critical to saving America.

Thomas Jefferson wrote that “The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.” Indeed, not long ago many called the free press the “fourth estate” – akin to a separate branch of government that ensured fairness, integrity, and good public policy. In light of the importance and confidence placed in the press by the Founding Fathers, they would likely be sorely disappointed today.

Asking probing questions and reporting how policy proposals or actions square with equality, the rule of law, the Social Compact, unalienable rights, and limited government would be a significant and vital contribution to the political dialogue and health of the republic.

Providing more in-depth coverage regarding tax policy, presidential and congressional elections, judicial appointments, appropriation bills, social controversies, and armed conflicts in the context of the First Principles and our history would enlighten policy makers and the public when grappling with such issues. Such coverage would enable voters and policy makers to seriously consider the appropriateness of proposed policies instead of relying on sound-bite propaganda to influence their positions on the issues.

Nearly all policy issues can be subjected to media examination in light of our history and First Principles. Meaningful and insightful reform by the media is a critical step to protecting America’s freedoms.

"America's Survival Guide is a bold and insightful work that should be taken seriously by those concerned with the future of America. We ignore it at our peril."
Congressman Joe Knollenberg

“Michael Warren is the Paul Revere of the 21st century, warning of an invasion of the American spirit that threatens to eviscerate the country’s founding principles and rot the nation from within. He documents the historical illiteracy that is truly dumbing down the future of America, its children. It’s time for America to answer this intellectual and spiritual call-to-arms.” – RICHARD BURR, THE DETROIT NEWS, ASSOCIATE EDITOR, EDITORIAL PAGE

“America’s Survival Guide by Michael Warren describes with detail and passion the dangers that come from abandoning the ‘First Principles’ upon which this nation was founded. But this important book offers more than a diagnosis and despair, it presents a reasoned program for restoring the U.S. Constitution its proper place at the center of American society and government. America’s Survival Guide draws on history, politics and education to make a powerful case for freedom and fighting for it.” John Engler, former Governor of Michigan and current President and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers
